To fix it, on outlook on my PC I just cut/paste those phone numbers from the "other number" field on my outlook contact cards into the "pager" field (you can use any field that appears as an option on both outlook and iphone). Probably something to do with there being less or different categories on the IMAP server than on iphone. PS: One little glitch I noticed after this is that phone numbers in my contacts under the "iphone" or "other" label disappeared from contacts on my iphone but were still in the contact cards on outlook on my PC. Hopefully contacts and calendar now sync both ways from your computer to iPhone automatically.

Turn on syncing for calendar and contacts when prompted to delete and override existing each time. Select (or add) the account that just added to outlook on your PC as an IMAP.

First plug your iphone into your computer and do a full backup in itunes. If everything is syncing fine both ways then we’ll proceed to over override your iphone calendar and contacts. Add the email account to the outlook iphone app and add a test calendar item and a test contact and see if they show up on your computer (may take a minute), and try vise versa.

If you did use an email account you can download the outlook app for iPhone to test both ways syncing for your mess with you iPhone settings. It should now look the same as your original contacts folder.

Drag and drop all the contact you put into that contacts desktop folder into this. You should have a separate contacts item with your IMAP email account name in it. It should look just like you original calendar at this point. You can change view back from list to calendar. Now open that new calendar you just created, go to list view, and drag and drop ALL the calendar items that we backed up to the desktop folder before. If you don’t see a new empty calendar then right click your calendar name on the left side of the screen and select “New Calendar”, in that popup box select the “calendar” item under the IMAP email address file tree, this will place the new calendar on that IMAP server (so it syncs).

You should see your original calendar(s) here plus a new empty one that probably has the IMAP email account in the name. I just keep that new folder tree minimized, and I continue to use my previously setup email inbox in “personal folders”. In my version of outlook it just asks you to enter the email address and click connect by default it adds as an IMAP.Īfter adding that email account as an IMAP, on your Outlook main screen, on the left under your “Personal Folders” you should see an additional folder tree labeled whatever the name of the email address you just added is. You can now change your view back to calendar or whatever you were using before. Now highlight EVERYTHING in this list and copy it to a folder on your desktop. Lastly, go to your calendar, go to view>Change View>List. In addition to the above, highlight all your contacts in outlook and drag them into a folder on your desktop, they will all be copied to that folder (and not removed from outlook). Repeat the above again but choose contacts instead of calendar. Go to File>Open & Export>Import/Export>Export to a File>Outlook Data File pst> Now select Calendar and make sure “include subfolders” is checked.
